Read Your Bible

I remember when we used to keep money in the Bible as if it was a piggy bank.  I also recall the day we were praying for a girl who had been attacked by spirits an one of us thought the physical placement of a Bible on the girl would quicken her deliverance.  There might be people who place their Bibles under their pillow whenever they sleep, to avoid being troubled at night!

Rather than try to define the Bible, let me tell you what it is to me instead.  The Bible tells an amazing story of God, his gracious and loving nature, and how He has interacted with people and all creation.  It tells us how God sent His dear son, Jesus Christ, and how he interacted with people and nature. More interestingly, the Bible helps me establish my relationship with God.  For that reason, I love to read the Bible and listen to God as I read.

There’s no book on earth that can provide a 360 degrees type of evaluation like the Bible.  It speaks to the rich and the poor, the master and the slave, the King and the subject, men, women and children.

Read your Bible to grow in knowledge and understanding.  If you read it with all your heart, you will be filled with a fresh understanding and your faith will be made stronger if you believe.  Then you cannot use the ‘Bible book’ to fight spiritual battles, you will use the word of God which keeps your faith strong.

“The word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
