Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He promised he would return to earth again. He said,
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you may be where I am.” John 14:1-3.
Jesus Christ will come again, this time not through birth by a woman, but He will come in a cloud just as He ascended (Acts 1:11). Jesus is not subject to kings of the earth but rules over them (Rev. 1:4-5). He is coming on the clouds and everyone will see Him, including His enemies (Rev. 1:7). All the tribes of the earth will mourn because of him.
God has a perfect plan for everyone who overcomes. He promised, “To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of Paradise of God.” Rev. 2:7. This is the tree of life that God mightily protected on all sides when Adam and Eve sinned against Him in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve ate of the tree that gives knowledge but God protected the one that gives life before anyone had touched it (Gen. 3:22).
Jesus said, “I am the bread of life, he who comes to me shall not hunger and he who believes in me shall not thirst.” John 6:35. He also said, “Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14. The tree of life symbolises transformation from mortal to immortal, from death to life. When a sinner turns to God, repents and believes that Christ died for Him, he undergoes transformation from a sinful to a righteous lifestyle. This new life remains filled with the Holy Spirit till the end, when the righteous who endured to the very last day will be crowned in glory.
It is very necessary for every believer to fear God and give Glory to Him, and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water (Rev 14:7). Believers must fear God. They must not be equally yoked with unbelievers. No other being, creature or system should be placed before the Living God. No one knows the day God has set to avenge the suffering of His saints; therefore, God warns us to watch so that we won’t be caught unaware. Fill your lantern with oil and keep it burning! (Matthew 5:14-16). Be a wise virgin and patiently wait for your bridegroom, Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:1-13). Your lantern is your heart and the oil is the Holy Spirit. He is your power, wisdom, life and victory.
